  1. Power Source and Transmission Method

    - Mechanical Crushing Claws:

      - Usually, power is transmitted through mechanical structures, such as using mechanical components like gears and chains for power transmission. The power may come from an electric motor or an engine, and through mechanical transmission devices, it is transferred to the jaw plates of the crushing claws, causing the jaw plates to generate a biting force to crush objects. The advantage of this method is that the structure is relatively simple, and it has relatively high reliability under some simple working conditions. However, the friction and wear between mechanical transmission components may affect their service life and efficiency, and there may be significant power loss when transmitting large amounts of power.

    - Hydraulic Crushing Claws:

      - Mainly rely on the hydraulic system to provide power. The hydraulic pump pressurizes the hydraulic oil and then transports it through oil pipes to the hydraulic cylinders of the crushing claws. The pistons in the hydraulic cylinders move under the pressure of the hydraulic oil, thus driving the jaw plates of the crushing claws to open and close. The advantages of hydraulic transmission are that it can provide a large force, and the biting force of the jaw plates can be precisely controlled by adjusting the pressure of the hydraulic system. Meanwhile, the output force of the hydraulic system is relatively stable and can adapt to the crushing work of objects with different hardness and sizes. Moreover, the hydraulic system has good overload protection performance. When encountering a situation exceeding the rated load, safety devices such as relief valves in the hydraulic system can prevent the equipment from being damaged.

  1. Working Performance Characteristics

    - Mechanical Crushing Claws:

      - The working speed may be relatively fixed because the speed ratio of mechanical transmission is generally fixed, so the opening and closing speed of the jaw plates and the crushing frequency are relatively stable. When crushing harder objects, there may be situations of insufficient power or damage to mechanical components due to the strength limitations of the mechanical structure and power transmission efficiency issues. However, for some objects with lower hardness and smaller size, mechanical crushing claws can effectively complete the crushing work, and the working process is relatively intuitive, easy to understand and maintain.

    - Hydraulic Crushing Claws:

      - The working speed can be adjusted according to actual needs. By adjusting the flow rate of the hydraulic system, the opening and closing speed of the jaw plates can be changed. When facing objects with different hardness, hydraulic crushing claws can flexibly adjust the pressure to adapt. For example, when crushing reinforced concrete with high hardness, the hydraulic pressure can be increased to make the jaw plates generate a sufficient biting force; while when crushing softer materials such as wood, the pressure can be appropriately reduced, which can both complete the crushing work and avoid over-crushing. The biting force of hydraulic crushing claws is usually larger and can handle larger and harder objects, such as large metal components and thick concrete blocks.

  1. Complexity of Structure and Difficulty of Maintenance

    - Mechanical Crushing Claws:

      - The overall structure is relatively simple, mainly consisting of mechanical transmission components and the body structure of the crushing claws. If mechanical components such as gears and chains fail, they are generally easy to detect. When repairing, it is mainly to replace worn mechanical parts, and the requirements for the mechanical knowledge and skills of maintenance personnel are relatively low. However, mechanical components are easily affected by environmental factors such as dust and impurities, and need to be regularly cleaned and lubricated to ensure their normal operation.

    - Hydraulic Crushing Claws:

      - The structure is relatively complex, in addition to the body structure of the crushing claws, it also includes hydraulic pumps, oil pipes, hydraulic cylinders, various hydraulic valves, etc. The hydraulic system has high requirements for sealing. If there is a problem such as hydraulic oil leakage, it will affect the normal operation of the equipment, and it may be complex to find the leakage point and repair the leakage problem. Meanwhile, the maintenance of the hydraulic system requires maintenance personnel to have certain hydraulic knowledge and skills, including operations such as replacing hydraulic oil and debugging hydraulic valves, and the maintenance cost is relatively high.

  1. Emphasis on Application Scenarios

    - Mechanical Crushing Claws:

      - Generally applicable to small and simple crushing operation scenarios, such as small woodworking workshops, for crushing some small wood, plastic and other materials. Or in some occasions where the crushing precision requirement is not high and the working intensity is small, such as small construction waste treatment points, for treating some small bricks, tiles and other materials.

    - Hydraulic Crushing Claws:

      - More suitable for large and high-intensity crushing work. At the demolition site of buildings, for crushing large concrete structures, reinforced concrete components, etc.; in the used metal recycling industry, for dismantling large scrapped cars, handling heavy used metal equipment, etc. Because of its powerful biting force and flexible working performance, it can meet these complex and high-intensity work requirements.
