How does the working principle of the box hydraulic breaker for excavators work

2025-03-04

The working principle of the silent hydraulic breaker for excavators is basically the same as that of a common hydraulic breaker. It mainly utilizes hydraulic energy and the compression and expansion of nitrogen to generate impact force. However, some noise reduction measures are adopted in its design and structure. The following is its specific working process:

1. Return Stroke Stage: Hydraulic oil enters the relevant cavity of the breaker through the high-pressure oil pipe, pushing the piston upward. At this time, the hydraulic oil in the upper cavity of the piston flows out from the oil outlet. While the piston moves upward, it compresses the nitrogen in the nitrogen chamber, increasing the nitrogen pressure and forming high-pressure nitrogen to store energy. At the same time, the lower accumulator is connected to the oil inlet for energy storage until the pressure in the accumulator is balanced with the inlet pressure.

2. Reversing Stage: When the piston rises to the highest point of its stroke, the directional control valve changes its direction. The hydraulic oil that originally entered the lower cavity of the piston is then directed to enter the upper cavity of the piston, changing the direction of the force exerted by the hydraulic oil on the piston.

3. Stroke Stage: After the directional control valve changes direction, the hydraulic oil entering the upper cavity of the piston pushes the piston downward. At the same time, the high-pressure nitrogen compressed in the nitrogen chamber also exerts a downward force on the piston. The combined action of these two forces makes the piston move downward rapidly. In addition, the hydraulic oil in the lower cavity of the piston rod also flows to the upper cavity of the piston rod, which is equivalent to a quick-feed mechanism, further accelerating the downward movement speed of the piston.

4. Striking Stage: The piston moves downward rapidly and strikes the drill rod, transmitting the kinetic energy of the piston to the drill rod, causing the drill rod to generate an instantaneous explosive force, which acts on the objects to be broken, such as rocks, concrete, etc., so as to achieve the breaking operation. After the piston strikes the drill rod, there will be a brief pause, and then the next working cycle begins.

Compared with common breakers, the silent breaker generally adopts a thickened shell and sound insulation materials to wrap the breaker body, reducing the outward propagation of noise. It also optimizes the internal structure to make the piston movement smoother, reducing the noise and vibration generated by mechanical collisions. Or it adopts a specially designed drill rod to reduce the noise generated during the striking process, etc.
