  1. Routine Inspections

  1. Exterior Inspection

    - Before each use, carefully examine the exterior of the grabber. Check whether there are cracks, deformations, or other signs of damage on the housing, claws, and other components of the grabber. If any cracks are found, especially on the critical connection points or load-bearing structures, the components should be repaired or replaced promptly. Cracks may gradually expand during use, leading to potential safety hazards.

    - Inspect the wear of the claws. The claws, which are in direct contact with the objects to be grasped, are prone to wear after frequent use. If the edges of the claws are severely worn, it will affect the grasping effect and reduce the grasping force. When the wear of the claws exceeds a certain limit, such as when the wear amount reaches one-third of the original size of the claws, consideration should be given to replacing them.

  1. Connection Point Inspection

    - Check the connecting pins between the dual-cylinders and the main structure of the grabber. The pins should be firmly installed without any signs of loosening. If the pins are loose, it will cause the grabber to shake during operation, affecting the accuracy and stability of grasping. Use tools such as wrenches to regularly tighten the nuts on the pins to ensure a tight connection.

    - Check whether there is hydraulic oil leakage at the connection points of the hydraulic cylinders. Hydraulic oil leakage will not only affect the performance of the grabber but also may cause pollution to the surrounding environment. If oil stains are found at the connection points, further check whether the seals are damaged. If so, replace the seals promptly.

  1. Hydraulic System Inspection

    - Check the hydraulic oil level. The hydraulic system of the dual-cylinder grabber requires sufficient hydraulic oil to function properly. Check the hydraulic oil level through the level gauge on the hydraulic oil tank. If the level is too low, add hydraulic oil that meets the requirements of the equipment in a timely manner. When adding hydraulic oil, pay attention to keeping it clean and avoid mixing in impurities.

    - Check whether the hydraulic oil pipes are damaged, deformed, or aged. The hydraulic oil pipes may be affected by the external environment during long-term use, such as being scratched by sharp objects or deformed due to long-term pressure. If any problems are found with the pipes, replace them immediately to avoid the risks of hydraulic oil leakage or even pipe bursting.

  1. Regular Maintenance

  1. Lubrication Maintenance

    - Regularly lubricate the key moving parts of the grabber. This includes the joint parts of the claws, connecting pins, and piston rods of the dual-cylinders. Use suitable lubricants, such as high-temperature grease, to apply on these parts to reduce friction and wear and make the movements of the grabber smoother.

    - The lubrication cycle should be determined according to the frequency of use and the working environment of the grabber. Generally, in a normal working environment, lubricate at least once a week. If the working environment is harsh, such as being dusty or humid, increase the number of lubrication times appropriately.

  1. Hydraulic System Maintenance

    - Regularly replace the hydraulic oil. The hydraulic oil will deteriorate after long-term use, affecting the performance of the hydraulic system. Generally, it is recommended to replace the hydraulic oil every 1000 - 1500 hours of work or once a year, depending on the actual use situation of the hydraulic oil and the suggestions of the equipment manufacturer. When replacing the hydraulic oil, also replace the hydraulic oil filter to ensure the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil.

    - Inspect and debug the valves and pumps of the hydraulic system. The performance of these components directly affects the working pressure and flow rate of the hydraulic system. Professional technicians can be invited to regularly clean and inspect the valve spools to ensure that the valves can open and close normally. For the hydraulic pump, check whether its working pressure is normal. If there is any abnormality, repair or replace it promptly.

  1. Structural Component Maintenance

    - Perform anti-corrosion treatment on the main structure of the grabber. If the grabber often works in a wet or corrosive environment, such as near the seaside or in a chemical enterprise, its metal structure is prone to rusting. Regularly remove rust from the surface of the structural components and then spray anti-corrosion paint to extend the service life of the grabber.

    - Check the welded parts of the structural components. The welded parts are the key parts of the grabber structure and are prone to fatigue cracks. Use flaw detection equipment or manual inspection methods to check whether there are cracks in the welded parts. If cracks are found, perform repair welding promptly.

  1. Correct Use and Operation

  1. Avoid Overloading

    - Be clear about the rated grasping force of the dual-cylinder grabber. During the work process, do not exceed this rated value. Overloading will cause excessive pressure on the dual-cylinders, claws, and other structural components of the grabber, easily leading to component damage and shortening the service life of the equipment.

  1. Correct Operational Modes

    - When operating the grabber, avoid sudden movements. For example, when opening and closing the claws and rotating the grabber, operate slowly to ensure that the grabber can work smoothly. Sudden movements may cause impacts on the hydraulic system and damage the hydraulic cylinders, valves, and other components.

    - When the grabber is not in use, place it in a safe location to avoid being hit or squeezed by external forces. If it is not used for a long time, it is best to disassemble the grabber and store it in a dry and ventilated place, and provide appropriate protection, such as covering it with a plastic sheet to prevent dust and moisture from entering.
