What are the main core components of an excavator double-cylinder shear, and what are their respective functions
The excavator double-cylinder shear is mainly composed of the following core components, each with its unique function:

1. Double Hydraulic Cylinders
As the power-executing components of the double-cylinder shear, each cylinder contains a piston connected to the blades via linkages. When the excavator's hydraulic pump delivers hydraulic oil into the cylinders, the pressure generated by the oil pushes the pistons, driving the blades to open and close. This generates the shearing force to cut objects. The double-cylinder design provides greater thrust and shearing force, enabling the equipment to easily cut thick and hard metal materials (e.g., steel bars, steel beams) while enhancing stability and balance during shearing.
2. Synchronization Mechanism
This key component ensures that the pistons of the two cylinders move in sync during shearing. It can be achieved through electromagnetic induction, chain drive, gear drive, synchronization valves, or synchronous motors. The mechanism keeps the two blades parallel and synchronized, preventing skewing or uneven shearing, thus enabling precise cutting, improving shearing efficiency, and ensuring each cut meets the expected effect.
3. Blades
Directly responsible for the shearing task, blades are typically made of high-strength alloy steel, stainless steel, or hot-rolled steel, processed and heat-treated for excellent wear resistance, impact resistance, and extreme hardness. This material withstands huge shearing and impact forces, ensuring the blades do not deform, wear, or damage during long-term operation. The blade structure is optimized for different shearing objects and working conditions. For example, blades with different shapes and edge designs can be selected for materials of varying shapes and sizes to reduce resistance and improve shearing efficiency.
4. Hydraulic System
Including hydraulic pumps, oil tanks, pipelines, valves, etc. The hydraulic pump converts mechanical energy into hydraulic energy, sucking oil from the tank, pressurizing it, and delivering it to the cylinders via pipelines to power the shear. Hydraulic valves regulate the flow and pressure of the oil to precisely control shearing force and speed, meeting requirements for different materials. The system also includes safety devices (e.g., safety valves, relief valves) to prevent damage from excessive pressure or operational hazards.
5. Rotation Mechanism (for some models)
Composed of a rotating disc, reduction gearbox, and rotation motor. The disc with a gearbox protects the motor and stabilizes rotation. This mechanism allows the double-cylinder shear to rotate 360°, enabling shearing at different angles and directions. It enhances flexibility and adaptability in complex environments, such as cutting in narrow spaces or shearing from various angles.
6. Control System
Responsible for starting, stopping, adjusting the equipment, and fault alarming. Operators can easily regulate parameters like shearing force and speed through the system, which also supports overload protection and emergency stop functions for safety. Some advanced systems may have automatic control features, such as adjusting shearing actions based on preset parameters to improve efficiency and precision.
